Patient Participation Group

The Practice has an established patient particiaption group and is always looking for new patients to join. If you would like to become a member of the group and give a little bit of time to the practice by attending meetings and meeting with outside organisations, please ask at reception for details or ask to speak to our Patient Engagement Lead or Practice Manager they are happy to help at all times.

The Patient Participation Group meets up to 4 times a year at the Practice on different days and times to accommodate all the members. Patients are also invited to Patient Network meetings details of these dates are sent out to the group and displayed in the reception area of the practice. Help with costs for transport can be arranged for patients who attend these meetings. we would like to encourage involvement to help us move forward with change and technology.

The Practice has tried to continue work with patients throughout the Covid19 Pandemic

The Practice and patients have been unable to meet in person due to distancing and isolation. The Practice Manager and patient Engagement lead Razia Bibi have organised some of the meetings to be done through Zoom calls

PROJECTS 2021/22

The Practice has been working with Bradford Council on The Tree Project. Trees have been planted around Barkerend health Centre to reduce to pollution from the main road and cars in the area. The Trees have now all been planted and getting established to give a nice outlook and help with the environment.

COVID 19 - VACCINATION CLINICS at Barkerend Health Centre

The Practice works closely with our Primary Care Network 5 (PCN5)

Barkerend Health Centre has been chosen for PCN5 to run vaccination clinics as a hub. The Practice and patients are working with 10 other Practices in the area, we are working as one to being the service to patients and health care professionals.

Bradford Moor Practice together with the PCN5 staff originally set up the clinics and have had a successful uptake on the vaccinations. Bevan are now running and overseeing the full service together with the help of PCN5 Practices and patients are all working together to deliver the vaccines in a safe, quick and efficient way

McMillan Coffee Morning- Fund raiser 2021/22

The patients and staff at Moor Park Medical Practice worked together with Avicenna on McMillan Coffee morning virtual session making sure covid rules were adhered to. Donations were made over the week.

Marie Curie 2021/22

The health centre took part in raising funds for Marie Curie by asking for donations

Breast, Bowel and Cervical cancer screening 2021/22

The health centre are always looking at ways to promote and take part in raising awareness of breast, bowel and cervical cancer screening. The Practice has updated displays in the health centre and continued to offer appointments for Cervical Smears throughout the Covid 19 Pandemic

As well as the Practice working with PCN5 the Practice also works with Primrose Surgery, Avicenna, Bradford Moor and Dr Hamdani's practice on different projects for patients throughout the year.

March 2021

Due to Covid 19 this project was put on hold as it was being undertaken by volunteers. The Practice manager arranged for the area to be cleared of all weeds and overgrown trees in preparation for the work to start. The area has been taken back to minimum maintenance in preparation for the mindfulness garden project.
